Sunshine Showcase

A visit to Walt Disney World® Resort is always magical. Each year the Sunshine Showcase, previously the Disney Field Hockey Showcase, promises to provide high-level competition, excitement and memories for every member of the field hockey family. We have travelled to this tournament for 6 years and enjoy it more and more each year. This tournament is a great way to get seen by D1, D2, and D3 college coaches or to just come and play some great hockey.

The tournament is a five-game minimum, six game max starting on Friday afternoon and ending around 5pm on Sunday. We would leave Thursday night and return Sunday night. The girls would have to miss school on Friday. We have rooms booked for the girls and they will stay in rooms of four. This is a USAFH sanctioned event, which means the girls must stay at an approved USAFH hotel. We have made reservations at:

Parents are welcome to attend but not mandatory. The girls will be travelling with 2 coaches and Tom and Jen Bower. The price for the tournament includes tournament fees, hotel stay, transportation to and from the field, water, Gatorades, snacks and three meals on the trip (breakfast is included with the rooms). 

The trip DOES NOT INCLUDE AIRFARE. Here is the flight information for players not going with families. Coaches will be on this flight. The sooner you book the flight the cheaper it will be. We are flying SouthWest Airlines out of Hobby Airport

If your daughter does not have a Houston Velocity Uniform, she will need to purchase one. This uniform will be used for all tournaments we play in. The cost of the uniform is $95. This includes reversible uniform top, skirt and compression shorts.

If your daughter does not have a USAFH membership she will need to purchase one. This is a yearly $60 fee and they must have this to participate. This membership also gives discounts on stores and flights with United.

$200 Non-Refundable Fee at registration will be collected and subtracted from your total cost. We will invoice you for uniforms and remaining registration fees.

Cost: $600 if traveling with coaches and $450 if staying with parents. If staying with parents you must be booked at a USAFH approved hotel. This is how they track the players.

To participate in this tournament you must be registered for the winter season with Upper Velocity.
