National Indoor Festival

This is the inaugural year for the National Indoor Festival. It is modeled after the National Hockey Festival that takes place over Thanksgiving. Different age divisions have the opportunity to gather over a weekend to play indoor field hockey. The NIF will also run in conjunction with the 2022 World Hockey for men and women. Teams come from across the world to compete and hopefully we can watch some games. We will have to leave the evening of Thursday, Feb 17th due to flights on Friday not getting in until the evening. There will be a $200 non refundable deposit due by December 19th to secure your spot. Since this is a USAFH event the girls will need to stay at a USAFH approved hotel. Just like the Sunshine Showcase we will have 2 options:

Option 1: $600  Travel with the team and the cost includes hotel, car rental, snacks and 3 meals. FLIGHT IS NOT INCLUDED. 

Option 2: Travel with parents. $450 -  FLIGHT IS NOT INCLUDED.

Hotel: Tapestry Collection Founders Inn and Spa Virginia Beach. I have rooms booked for the girls. If you are traveling with parents here is the link to book rooms. Any of these hotels are fine. I would wait until the block expires on 12/14/21. More rooms will open up at that time.

Thursday Feb 17, 2022. Flight number 640 and connection flight 1249

Flying out of Hobby airport at 5:10pm and arriving in Richmond, VA 11:10pm

Sunday Feb 20th Flight Number 2352 with connection 2516

Flying out of Richmond at 6:00 pm and arrive at Hobby 11:40pm

You will also need to purchase a uniform for the event if you do not already have one ($90) and also must be a member of USA Field Hockey ($60). This is a yearly membership.

Here is what you MUST have (equipment wise) to participate:

• Indoor stick (Amazon or Just Her Sports)
• Indoor volleyball or indoor soccer shoes.
• Left hand glove (Required) and right hand is suggested (Amazon or Just her sports)

To participate in this tournament you must be registered for the winter season with Upper Velocity and Upper Velocity Indoor Practice.
