CalCup - Spring 2023

For a second year, Houston Velocity will be attending CalCup over Memorial Day weekend. This event was great for the team last year and we hope to have a similar experience this year. Over the three days, teams from around the country compete, including international team and teams at the U19 and U21 level. To experience the higher level of play was a great experience for all the Velocity players. 

During the three days, we are guaranted four games with the possibility of more games during the Semis and Finals. Last year, we end this tournament with a record of 4-1 and finished second in our bracket. Once of the nights were were there, USAFH rented out a bowling alley and provided free lanes, pizza, and soda to all players and coaches.  It ended up being a very memorable event.

We would like to get as much support around this as possible. We are asking for $50 deposit, per player, to establish our teams and get our sign-ups in.  We anticipate the total cost of the tournament to be between $500 and $600 per player.  The deposit will count towards that amount.  The cost will include: tournament fees, hotel stay for player, coaching fees, one meal per day, snacks, and ground transportation. We will take your player between the airport, hotel, and the fields, plus other places as time permits (AIRFARE NOT INCLUDED). Last year, we saw the Hollywood sign and took the girls "shopping" on Rodeo Drive.
